This impressive antique fireplace is made of the precious Noir de Mazy marble - the deepest, most intense black marble from the Belgian Meuse Valley, loved by architects and interior designers for its velvety, even black without veins or spots. The fireplace has an architecturally pure, clean design with a wide, smoothly profiled frieze and elegant rondel ornaments at the transition between frieze and pilasters. The massive, rectangular pilasters rest on heavy pedestal blocks that complete the powerful, understated look of this piece.
